Who We Are
Our Story
In the 1850s, German musicians Charles Kohler and John Frohling immigrated to San Francisco during the Gold Rush. Their vision was not to chase wealth, but to build community by making music, the arts, and great wine accessible to all. Their success as musicians and winemakers filled concert halls and brought people together to enjoy the literal fruits of their labor.
Today, we honor our founders' enduring vision by bringing together those pioneers who dare to dream in the pursuit of new possibilities.
At Pioneer Wine House, our winemakers take great pride in meticulously sourcing the highest quality grapes from diverse vineyards across California, crafting wines of quality, character and balance to be enjoyed by all. Today, our founders' legacy has been revived within these bottles. With each of our offerings, we strive to honor and celebrate the bounty of our state, and the work we do as a collective.
